MTQRL TQ MIDGETS TO RACE AT THE JEFFERSON CO. FAIR ON JULY 15th
The Midwest TQ Racing League
presented by Vincennes University continues their 2011 racing season on Friday evening July 15th at the Jefferson County Fair. This will be the first of three races this year at the Madison, Ind. oval. The MTQRL three-quarter midgets will return on August 13th and September 17th.
Defending champion Tate Martz of Rushville is the current point leader and the winner of the most recent event, Saturday night at the Shelby County Fair. Martz took the win, his second of the season, after a late race pass on polesitter Nick Speidel.
Speidel, who finished third behind Jason Willis, has had a busy week in non-sanctioned TQ racing. He was the winner on both Sunday and Monday at the Lawrence and Crawford County Fairs, and on Friday he finished second at the Decatur County Fair.
Other drivers to take home wins this season have been Willis, Ronnie Combs and 2010 Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year CJ Leary. Leary is the most recent winner at Madison but Willis has seen the most success, winning three of the six races held to date.
Local drivers expected to compete include Bill James (Lexington), Corey Eaglin (Elrod), Craig Eaglin (Friendship) and Kyle McIntosh (Versailles).
Practice is scheduled for 6:00 pm, qualifications at 6:15 pm, and racing is set to begin at 7:00 pm with the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. General admission is $8.00 (12 and over), children are $5.00, and 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $25.00 for all ages.
