The Vermilion County Fair Board is currently seeking a promoter for the speedway for the 2011 season. Please contact fair board President Al Peeler at 217-446-1530 before January 1, 2011. The track will be demolished if a promoter is not found.

No one has taken it over and no decision has been made on restructuring the track. A motocross group was interested but their deal fell thru, so for now, the fairboard is content to wait and see if someone will step forward with a proposal. So, as witnessed by many so far, the track remains intact for now. I suggested the fairboard run it themselves, but there isn't enough interest on their part either.
Our good friend Grady Crippen does the facebook page out of the goodness of his heart and has no connection to the board except as a friend, I think he feels there is no need to update it until something positive happens.
