I have never been to the rumble in Ft. Wayne, but I plan on going on New Years Day. However, my buddies want me to watch the UFC fights with them on New Years Day. It would be a 2 hour trip for me up to the Rumble, so for those who have been in the past, is it worth attending? If not, I will gladly watch the fights while I celebrate New Years

Personally.... The racing is not that great. I go about every other year just for some thing to do, and catch up with a few friends. If Smoke if driving the place is full of Rednecks stock car fans. If he is not there the place is about half full.

The worst race I have ever seen is still better than the best fight I have ever seen. Just sayin'.

As a "fan", I wouldn't know, but as a participant, it's about as good as it gets, with your cloths still on! Bob

I'm a fan of both and the UFC card isn't very good. Go to Ft. Wayne.

I've never watched UFC, but isn't it on every couple of weeks? I'd go to the Rumble, I'm also one of those "try everything once" kind of people.
The winter is a long, cold, dark time of year for a racefan. I don't recognize your screen name, but if you are on this message board, I would assume you won't be too disappointed. |

thanks for the input fellas its much appreciated! now im not even much of a ufc fan, but I just like to hang out with my buddies and have a few drinks. But i'd have to agree, the winter is a difficult time for us race fans! I'm waiting for someone to come up with some indoor sprint car races! Not sure how difficult that would be haha but it sure would take a large facility and a lot of dirt.

I don't know where your from, but Tony Barhorst, the promotor of Ft.Wayne, put a sprint car/ midget doubleheader on at the old RCA dome. Wasn't too bad , and Glen Neibel's car with Tony Elliott up won the race.
If the weather is going to be as good as they say, GO RACING ! ![]() IMG_7948 by uncloose1, on Flickr |

We have been the last 3 years and I personally enjoy the smaller classes racing more than I do the midgets. I like the way the program is ran. As 1 class is leaving the track the next race is coming on. Not much down time at all. I think it needs to be a little bigger for the midgets. We live about 5 hours away so when we stay 2 nights in a motel it ends up about a $500.00 weekend for us but its well worth it. But as I said earlier I would go for everything even if there wasn't midgets.
