The biggest 360 race at Ventura this year will see Dave Darland and Jon Stanbrough join the cast of Cory Kruseman, Troy Rutherford, and Greg Talyor. Many more talented drivers could be there with a purse of $5K to win, $2k for 2nd and $1k for 3rd. Plus I believe there is bonus pcash for the top point drivers who have raced the 3 race series.

Stanbrough will be the top notch equipment with a car prepared by "Biggie" who has wins form drivers Matt Mitchell, Don Gansen, and Cory Kruseman in his car. (Plus he prepares a fleet of cars for some of the fastest drivers at Ventura).

Unfortunately this same weekend, 3 hours away, at Tulare is the biggest, badest 360 wing show on the west coast with 80 entries (cut off at this number) for the trophy cup. Drivers like Brad Sweet, Shane Stewart, and the Kaedings. Great format, 10 heat races, 12 car invert for main for Friday, 6 heat races, 3 D Mains, C, B and 50 lap TOTALLY INVERTED MAIN. Last year Kaeding started dead last in main, and won the race and the event. The real winner is the driver who accumulates the most points in 2 nights in ALL events including qualifying points. Best format for any race I have ever seen.

Unfortuately, a 35 year diehard Ascot non wing sprint car fan has to decide between these two great events and will probably go to Tulare. Ventura is always awesome every nite, and go there quite often, but the trophy cup has to be experienced once in your life, or for me every year now.

Ventura will have a $10 K to win USAC National Midget race November 20. This weekend is a double header with the VRA sprints and USAC West Midgets. Should be a great month of racing for Ventura, plus do not forget the OVal Nationals, Combo National SPrints/Midgets at Tulare, Turkey Nite Grand Prix, and the Glenn Howard at Perris with CRA and National Midgets to close out the season.

Don't forget that the PAS will be hosting the Legends of Ascot (that same weekend) and a series of four match races between Tony Jones, Danny Sheridan, David Cardey and Rip Williams. The match race winner will take home all the marbles - right now almost $4K. Have fun watching the wings JD!
