Anyone heard anything about this race the week before Christmas? Is it going to happen? I thought I heard it announced at the Gold Crown but didn't quite catch it all.

Invitational midget race, with 60 midget teams invited from USAC,
Poweri and Badger. They said it will be MIDGETS ONLY...no support class. $5000 to win. I'm sure this will not be like the Lasoski fiasco last year in KC. Saturday, December 18th. |

I talked to Jim Childers and Tom Vie(sp), yesterday at the outlaw show. They said the camera crews were at Du Quoin, Thursday and very pleased with what they had too work with. As I understand from what Jim said it will be on a tape delay through Lucas Motorsports, when, he did not say. They said they expect mid 50's to 60 midgets for the show. I don't think they are running a support class, either. Tom said he thought he could get all midget teams in the building, which could be a plus, since it will be the Saturday before Christmas. This has potential for a very good show. Should be an update on POWRi web site before too long. Thanks for your time, hope to see you there.
