Many more questions: Sprint car or winged sprint car ASCS or not (ASCS requires 2-3/16" injection or, if larger you must use sleeves that are 2-3/16" ID). Also, are you using ASCS heads or other? Remember, if you're running the ASCS National Tour you must use ASCS heads. If you're running ASCS regional races any 23 degree head is OK as long as you use the ASCS restrictor intake gaskets. Other than us, I don't know anyone who's not using dry-sump oil system. We've been using the old wet sump for 15 years with no problems and don't see the cost vs. benefit for us at this time, especially with a near $2K price tag. More answers can come with your answers to these questions. Tim Simmons |

i would have to talk to my engine builder and see what heads he has for me i don't think they will be ASCS i think just a good set of 23 heads. and for now yes we are going to be running wing class. ill be racing at a local race track in Missouri, Lake Ozark Speedway.

We use Engler Fuel Injectors, and a Dailey Engineering Oil pump on our 360 motor.

make sure heads ARE NOT raised intake. even with gaskets i'm pretty sure they are not accepted.

Generally speaking, tracks that run 360 winged sprint cars in your area have all adopted the ASCS regional rules that allow any 23 degree head with restrictor intake gaskets. The post about the raised runner heads is correct, I believe. I was under the impression that LOS ran ASCS rules. I know that WOW has adopted the ASCS rules package for motors, and I'm hearing talk that WOW will actually run under the ASCS banner next season. That being said, I believe LOS is one of their staple race tracks, so I'd make sure I talked to LOS about their rules package for next year. If they're going to ASCS, I'd get very familiar with their rules before instructing my engine builder on what to build. Tim Simmons |

i know this will make me sound like a dumb ass but what do you mean by raised intake. and so if LOS goes to ascs then i would have to have ascs heads or could i still run whatever 23 i want?

Get a set of ASCS heads. If they are used, find a tech guy to go over them with a fine tooth comb. If new, becarefull not to overport and ruin them.
Almost everyone is running ASCS heads now and it would be a wise investment to just get a pair and be done with it. |
