Is it just me or is anyone else tired of watching some half baked, limp wristed "celebrity" wave the green flag at the start of NASCAR races? I remember when the flag man was the boss and his work was a regular art form. One who comes to mind was a personal hero of mine, Mr. Duane Sweeney. He flagged the Indy 500 and also worked the tracks around Milwaukee. When Milwaukee had a dirt track inside the the big oval, I was trying to be a driver and came to one evening after getting my bells rung big time, and Mr. Sweeney was standing in the track in front of my car waving the red flag. Aah, the good ol' days!
