I just want to tell you all that we have two brand new open wheel fans.
Last year I took an old friend and his grandson to their first sprint car race
at Kokomo.
They were so Impressed that they went the next sunday by themselves.
This year they have been to Kokomo and Gas City more than me.
The boy cant believe that it is the same size track that he runs on at school, and here are 24 open wheel cars racing on it.
Up until last year my friend thought that sprint cars were what runs indoors in the winter on a 1/10 track
They will be fans for life----------I have been for 50 years

I took a buddy and his girlfriend to Kokomo for their first time on Sunday and they loved it. Every hardcore sprint car fan should try to take people that have never seen sprint cars to any good non-wing race. Particularly a sprint week race because of the atmosphere and the racing that's second to none. Its always fun to watch their faces when they see that first hot lap session. We need to help this sport grow and the most important part is to just get these people to the track. Once they see it, they'll be back.

I have taken two friends to races this year and they both had a great time and one was even planning on making the trip with me for the 2nd half of sprintweek but unfortuneately he's not able to. And I don't have a niece that has went with me yet that hasn't loved it but I can't wait until my brother let's me take my nephew. He loves race cars and racing but hasn't even been to a race yet.
