UMRA Returns to Mount Lawn on Saturday
By Alex Wollf

The 50th anniversary season of the Dutch Mill UMRA TQ Midgets continues this Saturday night with the second race of the season at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle. The first race at Mount Lawn this season was on June 19 and it was a thriller as Terry Goff made a last lap pass on his son Jason to take an emotional Father’s Day weekend victory.
Terry and Jason have finished first and second on two more occasions in the 2010 season with Jason getting the better of his father both times at Montpelier on July 3 and last Friday night at Columbus. This Saturday at Mount Lawn Terry will be hoping for another father-son, one-two finish but with a result similar to the June 19 race at one of his favorite tracks. However, there will be a lot of hungry drivers eager spoil the family reunion at the front of the field at one of the most scenic and historic tracks in the area.
There will be a pair of contingency awards that the drivers will be shooting for on Saturday night. $50 will be on the line as part of the “Tony Stewart Rookie Challenge” that goes to the highest finishing rookie. Five gallons of fuel will go to the G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” which goes to the driver who advances the most positions in the feature event. Kids will also want to get their parents to bring them to Mount Lawn as a brand new kids bike will go to one lucky young fan.
Saturday at Mount Lawn the gates open at 3PM, practice is at 5:15, qualifying at 6:15, and racing is scheduled to get underway at 7:30.

the UMRA TQ's put on a heck of a show at MT. Lawn, if you get a chance go check it out tonight. Mt. Lawn is without a doubt one of the most UNUSUAL race teacks around due to it's shape. Was built around a baseball field and you can tell by the shape of the track, has a big sweeping turn around the "outfield" then slide back into the "homeplate" turn! Fun place, fan friendly, decent food and a big grassy hill for the family to sit on and kids to play. Plus usually a decent supporting show, warning tho, the other classes will probally be taxi-cabs.
