Watching today I noticed how far safety has come a long way at Indy.
Instead of picking up people and pieces with an meat wagon they send a SUV to pick up the driver after wall contact. ![]() |

You are right D.O it is incredible how far the sport has come.
But I have to admit, if I had gotten a chance drive a Watson Roadster back in the day with a McHal helmet on my noggin, with two sets of goggles (One covering my eyes and the other behind my neck) and a scarf around my face. And of course wearing my white satin shinny with a red stripe down the sleeves and legs Hinchman uniform, and finally a pair of boots or even better, a set of Chuck Amati Moccasins.... look out and don't stand in my way! Was watching today and thought the same thing. Forgot how exciting Indy really is and how fortunate that we that live in Indiana have it.

I think A.J. said it was almost getting safe enough for women to drive........or maybe it was Hewitt.....or maybe I was just thinking that....
.......maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.....:2: |
