It is disappointing that this is Monday and no results or writeups have been posted on the websites or at any other media. Results and points would be much appreciated by fans and racers. It is no wonder interest in your groups is falling off. ASCT and MSCS sure need up graded on their contact with information. Sam Stockon Sr.

This was on the MSCS website this morning when I looked....The date is wrong and yes the points are not updated yet, but I am sure they will be soon!
Terre Haute, IN. - May 7, 2010. Jon Stanbrough of Brownsburg, IN, never relinquished the lead in a strong run Saturday night at the Terre Haute Action Track with the final result being a second consecutive victory for him in the Union Hospital Don Smith Classic. Stanbrough drove the Fox Brothers DRC sprinter sponsored by Jarvis Enterprises, Simpson, and Butlerbuilt. The event was sanctioned by the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series.
The runner-up this year was once again Damion Gardner. Gardner took second place on the 9th lap with a move to pass Robert Ballou entering turn one of the speedway. Another dual up front was in the offering. However drivers were racing each other and the clock. Lingering afternoon showers had delayed the start of activities and the feature was pushed off with a midnight curfew less than an hour away.
Robert Ballou was still running in third place on lap 21 when his car slowed in the third turn and was struck by another sprint driven by Mark Perry III. Perry’s car was upended and the red flag came out. There were no injuries reported in this or any of the other incidents. The two disabled cars were removed with very little time remaining.
Another incident after the restart brought out an eighth caution flag. At that stage in the event fuel concerns prompted officials to stop the remaining field of cars to allow for refueling. The Vigo County Sheriff decided at that point to impose the curfew and it was not possible to restart the race. The feature thus ended with 22 laps completed.
Thomas Meseraull, Bryan Clauson, and Brandon Mattox rounded out the top five. Eric Krockenberger headed a second five including Ryan Tusing, J.C. Bland, Blake Fitzpatrick, and Kyle Robbins. A collision in turn two during which Fitzpatrick’s and Robbin’s cars got hooked together had brought out that final yellow.
J.C. Bland of Springfield, IL, was the MSCS Hard Charger of the Race. Bland started at the rear of the field. He was one of two drivers that had cars undergoing repairs at the time the heat races were run. Despite the early set back he drove to an 8th place finish in the feature. The Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award for this first event of 2010 went to Critter Malone who finished eleventh on the field.
The three heat races held were won by Damion Gardner, Bryan Clauson, and Robert Ballou. With 24 cars entered and a 24 car starting field set for the program, a B-Main was not held. Twenty-two cars started the feature. Just eight survived the tribulations.
The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be idle the weekend of May 21st - May 23rd. However on Memorial Day weekend MSCS will race twice. Saturday night May 29th is a make-up race date at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Then on Sunday night May 30th MSCS will make it’s first appearance of the season at Tri-State Speedway.

I don't have a dog in this fight and should probably keep my mouth shut, but I'm not that smart. Sam asked a civil question and made a civil comment. There are others that are either fans, drivers, know drivers and crewmen, that would like to know results and how things went. Maybe they are considering attending a future event as a spectator or participant. MSCS is an established organization and does pretty well. ASCT is an upstart and can use all the help they can get. Prior to the first race, ASCT would have a post if the wind blew by. And that is fine. Maybe the situation at Vernon has affected that. I don't know. Point being that if you care about people and their interest in your group, let them know what is going on in a timely manner. I don't think that is asking too much, or out of line. Wish both groups nothing but the best. Just my opinion. Those that want to pi$$ and moan, jump on.
