Long time racing photographer passed away april 28th,In Richmond,Ind. Visitation is Monday May 3rd, from 5-8pm at Doan & Mills Funeral Home in Richmond.

I'm sorry to hear that. He was one of the best. I have dozens of his photos. He had a talent for focusing on a driver's eyes while they were hard at work. He will be missed.

Unbelievable!!!!! what a great guy, glad i got to see him at the USAC Lawrenceburg race a couple weeks ago, RIP!!!!

A little clarification: David L. Heithaus was the 80 year old father of David E. Heithaus. The father and son photographer team were fixtures at Mid-West tracks for a number of years. Son David E and his wife Ginny continue today in their passion of racing photography.
