USAC National Sprints start out the season in Florida Feb. 8-10, Las Vegas and Perris Feb. 25-27, and then a month stay in California Nov. 4-6 Perris, imagine another weekend at Tulare or somewhere, and then end the season Nov. 27 at Perris, all National shows. With the purses that are paid how can any team afford this travel? Let alone all the other stops in the middle of the season. I guess a guy can not work 40 hours a week any more and run the USAC deal.
I would have thought when one of the most loyal USAC supporters doesn't make the trip out west this year due to the cost maybe that would open some eyes but I guess not.
Woo pay tow money, ASCS National Tour pays Top 15 in points tow money, and All Stars pay tow money. Imagine that is part of the reason a few nonwingers have switched to the winged variety. The tow money is usually part of the sanctioning fee that promoters pay.
That was two years ago, Grady. Different group here. And I thought we all heard talk about them wanting to contract drivers or something along those lines? Surely, tow money is a paramount issue on their plate for next season...
