I wanted to say congrats to Brad and Bryan on their seasons.
Brad Kuhn has worked extremely hard over the last decade to become one of the best in the business. People say the day of the blue collar type racer is over, but Brad is just that. Here is a guy who earned an Engineering degree from Purdue while also running basically a full time racing schedule.
When he started, he and his father always worked with what they had and they always hustled to get better.
The first midget that I remember Brad racing was at 16th street. I forget who the car belonged to. It may have been a Challenger and it had a Cosworth.
Obviously he has come a long way since then. To me: Brad is an example of what a person can accomplish if they want it bad enough. Brads road to the top was not without it's share of detours and potholes.
Congrats goes out to Bryan Clauson as well. If not for some unfortunate breaks; Bryan could have easily won another 8-10 races this year. Here is another guy who has worked hard for all he has gotten. Look at how many guys who disappeared after they went to NASCAR and it didn't work out. He could have easily taken his money, went to school and never raced again. He could've quit and no one would've thought anything about it. He didn't and he basically showed everyone that he is one of the top talents in the country.
Brad Loyet also needs to be congratulated. Many people felt after Rusty and the Loyets split that there would be a drop off, but Brad took over the tough job of team management and driving and with Flea Ruzic aboard; they combined to have one of the best seasons in modern midget racing history.
Don't ever think for a minute that any of these guys or all of the top racers for that matter: haven't put all they have into doing what they do.
