Announcing 8 Wonders of Kansas Customs Contest

This message is to inform you of the exciting news that “Racing on a dirt track,” the High Banks in Belleville, KS and having the High Banks Hall of Fame and National Midget Auto Racing Museum to tell about it has been nominated along with about 60 other Kansas customs for the 8 Wonders of Kansas Customs contest.

The Belleville High Banks race track & Museum has made the cut to the finals, an elite list of 24 to be voted on. The top 8 customs receiving the most votes between September 10, 2009 and October 20, 2009 will be declared the winners.

The goal of the contests sponsored by the Kansas Sampler Foundation is to educate people about Kansas and to inspire exploring in the state.

Win or not, Auto Racing at Belleville will receive much exposure and coverage of its historical and very fast race track and impressive race museum, especially with the 100th anniversary year of the High Banks coming up in 2010.

So here’s what I'm asking you to do for auto racing:

Please vote online at www.8wonders.org before October 20, 2009 rolls around.

·Vote before midnight of October 20, 2009

·Must vote for exactly 8 (ballots with less or more than 8 boxes checked won’t be counted)

·Can vote by paper ballot (print off of website, or I can send you a ballot)

·Paper ballot must be signed (unsigned ballots won’t be counted)

·Can have 3 people vote on your computer per household, or (see next bullet…)

·Can only use 1 paper ballot per person

And finally, to learn more about the eight elements of Kansas’ rural culture and the current contest, go to www.KansasSampler.org and www.8wonders.org .

Have fun reading about Kansas, exploring some interesting and quirky places in Kansas, and/or watching for the final results of this enlightening contest.

Please vote for a total of 8 and include the Belleville High Banks race track and Museum in your 8 votes. Your vote will be very good for auto racing in general.

Thank You,
Wayne Dake
