Old Tucson Studios to Host ASCS Awards Banquet on November 22
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (September 10, 2009) – Details have been finalized for the 18th Annual American Sprint Car Series Awards Banquet presented by Brodix, with the festivities set for Sunday, November 22, at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, AZ. The Awards Banquet will follow directly on the heels of USA Raceway's 42nd Annual Western World Championships presented by Old Tucson Studios, with more than $100,000 in purse money to be distributed over the course of the season-ending event set for November 19-21. Not only will the lucrative $250,000 points fund be distributed among the top fifteen drivers in final Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters point standings at the November 22 Awards Banquet presented by Brodix, but the top ten in both Discount Tire Co. ASCS Canyon Region points and ASCS Southwest points will be honored as well. Arizona's "Hollywood in the Desert", Old Tucson Studios has served as the filming site of countless classic western movies since 1939. In addition to its historic role as a film studio, Old Tucson Studios is Southern Arizona's premier outdoor entertainment venue with a full array of live shows, thrilling stunts, Old West dramas, saloon musicals, trail rides and fun for the whole family. Located at 201 S. Kinney Road in Tucson, Old Tucson Studios opens at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. A chuck wagon lunch will be served at noon, with the Awards Ceremony to follow immediately after. Open to all racers, teams and fans, tickets to the 18th Annual American Sprint Car Series Awards Banquet presented by Brodix are available for just $20 and may be obtained by calling USA Raceway at 520-574-8515. Tickets must be ordered by Tuesday, November 17. Sunday's festivities at Old Tucson Studios will put the wraps on a full season of competition that concludes with the 42nd Annual Western World Championships presented by Old Tucson Studios on November 19-21, with the Lucas Oil Sprint Cars presented by K&N Filters battling it out for the $15,000 winner's share and the wingless ASCS Canyon Region mixing it up for a $5,000 winner's cut atop the 3/8-mile USA Raceway clay oval.
