Why is the USAC symbol on a promo for "The Prelude"?

Considering how harsh some of us have been about Kevin Miller lately, I doubt that you will get a meaningful answer from USAC via this board.
Consider me a fast-fading-almost-not-any-longer:28:

EDIT: This edit is in response to a PM I received.
It is definitely not a response to Seadog's caustic comments in post #4 below. I'm just feeling bad that he is off his meds, or whatever.

It should be obvious to any regular reader of IOW over the past few months that USAC has been the target of much criticism, particularly Mr. Miller. It was not the wisest choice for me to refer to him in my response to this ridiculous query about a possible connection between USAC and the Prelude. I apologize to Kevin Miller for that reference in my original answer.

Likely you are on a USAC mailing list of some kind - purchased a product, registered on the USAC site or other. USAC logo might be there because of that's where they got your email address.

I know the folks promoting this event are sending out email blasts as they've asked us to do the same for the Schrader Racing message board. Did the message come with an unsubscribe note on it? I'm curious to know since I've been asked to bombard our member base on the Schrader board. Thanks!!

I really appreciate the "furthering your own agenda" answer.

I was looking for a straight answer from somebody who might ACTUALLY know if the race was a USAC santion or what the deal was. Thanks.

This type of crap reminds me why I don't come around here much any more.

First, thanks for the straight up comment.

I am on the USAC mailing list through the Batallion membership my wife got for me as a present.

It does have unsubscribe, as do all the e-mails USAC has sent me. I just thought with the USAC shield on the promo, there could be some type of a connection.

Thanks again.

Gregg - thank you kind sir. I was hoping that was the answer. I have not seen a blast message until yours so I was not sure.

It is not a USAC sanctioned race, in fact I don't think there is any sanctioning body for it but I do believe they use rules from one of the LM series as a basis.

Just to add, neither the Dream nor the World 100 carry a sanction but are basically run to UMP rules. If you want to see a neat deal go check out the World 100, I know it's taxi-cabs but it's a pretty wesome deal.

The World 100 and Dream 100 are sanctioned by UMP. They are part of UMP's special event line-up and do not award points toward the UMP late model title.

Could it be that USAC is a paying sponsor?

The only thing on the entry blank referring to UMP is a small box stating Specs are UMP Super Late Model with Hoosier tire rules. Usually there's a few UMP guys doing the inspections/weigh-ins but Eldora runs the races. No biggie either way on "offical sanctioning" it's still a great race and one you should check out at least ONCE in your life! AND who knows WHO might show up and strap one on....
