Assuming I can get out of work early, I'm going to try to make it to Bloomington Friday for the first time. I'm looking for some information. Seating, which do you prefer: grandstands or hill with chair or blanket. I probably won't be able to get to the track before 6 or 6:30. Are there still good seats available that late? Concessions, what is worth standing in line for? Thanks for any insight you can share.

Lot of people like the hill with chair - School started so I really don't think you will have any problem at all. Concession stand is good - you can also bring in a cooler.

Made first trip to Bloomington this year, enjoyed that racey joint. The stands are not exactly "top tier" would suggest you bring a chair just in case. Also, you will have to stand in line at the restroom.

I'd definitely recommend the chair on the hill....and, you can probably choose between the turn 1 or turn 4 hills.
Be advised that people, mostly locals, place chairs on the hill as early as Thursday but there will still be room at the time you arrive. Forgo the blanket on the ground unless you just want to travel light. Be comfortable. There are bleachers but..... Bring what stuff you want except glass containers. Great track. Always good racin'.

Put your lawn chair just to the right of the top row of the stands (bleacher boards) and you will love it.

Thanks for all the replies. My daughter will appreciate the information about the ice cream. I might just have to have some so she doesn't feel lonely eating hers.
