I have yet to hear why Ballou was allowed to participate. Was there a suspension? Did MSCS lift it, or was there a loophole?
Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks

Loophole, see below.
EVERYBODY gets one free one it appears?
Think the Memmer meltdown will get one free pass too?
CONDUCT & SPORTSMANSHIP
5 CONDUCT - We are guests at each facility we race at. Drivers are
reminded to conduct themselves accordingly.
6 DRUGS AND ALCOHOL - The use of illegal drugs is prohibited.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages before the entire MSCS racing
program has been completed is prohibited. Track rules vary and may
prohibit alcohol beverage consumption entirely or until all racing programs
have completed.
7 ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR - Any verbal abuse or other abuse of a MSCS
official or other competitor may cause disqualification and loss of money
and points for the evening. This rule is for the driver, owner, and/or crew
member.
A second occurrence during the season may result in the team
suspension for the rest of the season with no refund of licenses or fees
already paid.
8 UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT - Fighting, going into another
competitor’s pit to argue or damage their equipment, rough driving, etc. by
any driver, owner, or crew member may result in your sprint car being
disqualified for the event and forfeiting all prize money and or points. If
you are in someone else’s pit during a confrontation…You are trespassing
and will be considered the aggressor.
9 RESULT OF DISCIPLINARYACTIONS - In the case of a
disciplinary disqualification or suspension for the event, any prize money
will be forfeited and no points will be awarded.

Perhaps what is meant by "suspension of the Team" is that the car is suspenended, but the driver could drive for another team as Balou did last night...just an idea

I have underlined a key word in rule 7 above. Using the word "may" dillutes the rule, and allows flexiblity in enforcement.
