Makes sense as they still owe money to teams from past races. Plus with Jason Smith taking over USAC as Coo, it wouldn't be good to own a series that is in conflict to them.

So is the Jason Smith deal a for sure thing. I thought it was just a rumor.

Not good, but not terrible. I'm sure that if racers were still owed money from previous events that they would have a harder time running the event knowing they may not get paid instead of just calling it quits for 2007 and making things right for 2008.

What conflict? I thought USAC abandoned the Big Cars in favor of the new gen Silver Crown cars?
