Gregg,

this race was listed when usac released the 2009 schedule. first time I have seen it referred to as the non wing nationals.

I think what the article is mentioning is the Mr. Sprint Car title that is awarded to the highest points earning driver that participates in the races b/t Newton and the K'Ville Nats. Maybe Casey's will add some more money to win in the USAC race.

Yes, its on Sunday night the 9th ....and then Oskaloosa on Tuesday the 11th

"Traditional Sprintcar" sounds ridiculous and is far more awkward. Ask anybody if they have ever seen a traditional sprintcar and they either look at you funny or ask "you mean the gokarts with big wings?"

Non-winged or wingless is a perfect description of a sprint car that does not have a wing. Lets call it what it is.
