It's Cool That This Is Still Being Acknowledged

Even though JJ is still the official track record holder at the Action Track, I think it's really good that they make a point to acknowledge that Shane Cottle turned the fastest ever lap there in a traditional sprint car, in 2005. If you remember the weekend of that 2 day show, on the first day Shane was clobbered so hard by a rock that it broke his helmet. I stopped and talked to him in the pits before that abbreviated qualification session and he didn't even look like the same person. It looked like he had been worked over by Mike Tyson. To this day, that lap, by a guy that looked like he could barely see and that was obviously in a lot of pain is almost as amazing as the lap Johnny Rutherford turned in the late 60's that stood as the track record for the better part two of decades. Neither should ever be forgotten.

I am glad they put that on their site, I never understood why that didn't count as the track record!
