Carl Trost, from Pleasant Hill, OH, a past owner of the #30 USAC sprint car from years ago passed away on April 17th. After Carl retired, his son, Doug went on as a car owner for many years. Many fine drivers, Gary Bentenhausen, Clark Templeman, Roger Rager, Rich Vogler, are just a few that wheeled the Trost sprinters over the years. They also were one of nearby Troy, OH Jack Hewitts car owners.

He has a grandson, Dustin Trost, that has ran winged 360 & 410 cars at Eldora a few years ago, and most currently has been running a non-wing car at Waynesfield Speedway and karts at indoors Rumble Series in the winter.

Also, many of you know another grandson, Matt Westfall, that runs the #54 non-wing sprinter and #50 modified.

We send condolences to the Trost family.

Not how did he die, but how did he live.
Not what did he gain, but what did he give
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
