New website

Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know I have started a new website. www.talk2drivers.com

The concept of this website is basically this... I will ask drivers about 10 questions. I will upload the video clips of the interviews for folks to download. I will also have the interview excerpts for those folks with dialup or those who would just rather read the interviews. Then I have an email address where the race fans can send questions for a future follow-up interview. I also plan to do live updates from the race tracks I attend (places like Bloomington, GC, Lawrenceburg, Haubstadt etc.) providing I can get this site off and running well.

The sucess of this website is dependant on the race fans. I know in my heart this is a good concept and with the help of the FANS it can be a heck of a place to go to! So if you have time please swing by and check it out.

My first interview was with Kevin Briscoe... and this interview is uploaded for everyone to check out. I have interviews done with Shane Cottle, Dave Darland, Cole Whitt, Jon Stanbrough, Brady Short, Jeff Bland Jr., Chris Windom, Robert Ballou, John Memmer and Daron Clayton. There will be more to come, so if there are more people you want me to interview or if the drivers themselves wish to be interviewed please send me an email.

I have been helping out Kyle with the setup of his website (hopefully this is not the "Kiss of Death" for it bud!). I have also been with him when he interviewed some of the drivers. After seeing how the interviews have gone I am now firmly convinced the idea for this site is stout. I do admit at first i was skeptical about it.... but now that I've seen the interviews and how he's laying them all out as well as the Live Update portion, this site should do real well. Even some of the drivers he has talked to are sold on the idea. ANYTHING to give these guys and gals more exposure they deserve is a step in the right direction.

I'm going to attempt to get his interviews converted to flash so they can be streamed. The intro I made for the Zone took me over an hour just to do 45 seconds worth of video.... so we'll see how it goes. If I can get some of the key folders for the site I will start the transcription process. Kyle is a "hunt and peck" typer so it would take him forever to type it out!

And for the record this site is TOTALLY unbiased towards any drivers... the objective afterall is to get these folks some exposure and our sport some exposure.

If anyone has any suggestions for the site, fire off an email to Kyle. He and I can take a look at it and go from there.

Good interview Kyle! Even had a cameo appearance by Dick Briscoe too!

Good luck with the interviews! I may hit you up to do my nephew Logan Hupp some time this winter. He will begin his first full year in sprintcars next year.

I wanted to bump this thread.

Kyle has got emails and pm's (as have I) about getting the full size videos either shrunk or in Flash format. I think I have got the Flash portion figured out. It shrinks the file size down by about 70% and streams seamlessly. at least on the computers at my house and at mom's.

As soon as I can talk things over with Kyle (and get the info for uploading.... my memory is NOTORIOUSY short!) I will get the page fixed and ready to go. I will post on here once done.

For those you who have been, speaking on behalf of Kyle and myself thanks! Please keep checking back in. I also plan to fix colors... seems there are some issues with that too!! It was whipped together rather quickly and is a work in progress.... so please reply back here what you think and any suggestions for improvements! Constructive criticism is always welcomed!
