Just learned yesterday that the dirt race track in CASA GRANDE has no intentions of opening this year. Although this has no effect on most of you that post on here, the Arizona racing community has lost a track. I am try to refrain from calling this a sign of the times or blaming the economy. So, what shall we call it?

The normal cycle of things? Race tracks come and go, open and close. And this happens for various reasons in both good and bad economies. Here in the Houston, Texas area, we have a track that had been closed for three years opening up this season. Can we blame "the economy" for that?

If you're familiar with the past few years at Casa Grande, you would have a pretty good idea what to call it.

Overbearing fairboard, fighting promoters, bad promoters, it's no surprise it's happening. It is a shame, the track is badass.

That's usually a problem when you're located halfway to nowhere.

May well be the case, but not because of the economy. They running the same classes as two other tracks within an hour's drive, and two classes the same as a third that all race on the same night. It's a great joint, though.
