IT IS TOP GUN NIGHT 2 RACE DAY AT MACON SPEEDWAY!

The debut for the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars at Mighty Macon had a lot of hype coming in with this being the first-ever visit to the track for the USAC National Sprints in the track's 78-year history. The wait was well worth it and lived up to the hype. Logan Seavey smashed the previous track record for Non-Wing Sprints setting a record for both USAC and overall for the class at 10.230. The feature was an exciting one and a finish that will be talked about for years to come as Mitchell Moles edged out Carson Garrett, going for his first USAC National win, by .0093 seconds. Those 2 did battle the last lap opening the door for Kyle Cummins in turns 3 and 4 to let it all hang out, and he ripped the top side of 4, caught the wall, flipped, and finished 3rd, .0094 seconds behind the race winner as he tumbled past the front stretch and landed just past the flag stand.

Tonight, we go 10 more laps as the main event will be 50 laps with a $10,000 top prize on the line for the Sprint field. Vintage Racing of Illinois vintage cars and DIRTcar Hornets will be on the card as well. LET'S GO RACING! Full details below:

I think it was Danny Smith who said years ago that he flipped down the entire front stretch at Macon,and only went over once
