BACK-TO-BACK: CARLSON CAPTURES 2ND STRAIGHT USAC DMA TITLE
Speedway, Indiana (October 14, 2021)………Seth Carlson did it for the first time in 2020.* For an encore performance in 2021, he did one even better.
The Stafford, Conn. native raced to his second consecutive USAC Dirt Midget Association (DMA) driving championship during the 2021 season on the strength of three victories, all of which came at the series’ home track of Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt.
Fellow Connecticut racer, Justin Phillips of West Suffield, Conn., scored three times during the season, notching two at Bear Ridge and the only to be held outside of Vermont, at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, New York, all of which were his first three career DMA wins.
Two-time series champ Joe Krawiec (Granby, Conn.) won twice while 2019 champ Will Hull (Plainfield, Vt.) won once, and Justin Sheridan (Suffield, Conn.) captured the first of his career.
Five drivers started all 10 feature events during the season: Carlson, Krawiec, Phillips, Sheridan, and Brandon Piastka (West Suffield, Conn.).* Carlson led all drivers with eight top-fives while only Krawiec and Sheridan went 10-for-10 by finishing in the top-10 in all 10 features.
