Extra Money on the Line at ‘Double Down Classic’ at Gas City Friday Night
GAS CITY, Ind., Aug. 18 — The second annual "Double Down Classic," the biggest non-sanctioned, non-wing, one-night sprint car event in the country, is set for this Friday night (Aug. 20) at Gas City I-69 Speedway. Featuring a purse of more than $20,000, there will be two 21-lap features for the sprints with each paying $2,000 to win and $225 to start. A $500 bonus will be paid if a driver wins both features. One $300 bonus will go to the driver who passes the most cars in the combined features. Minimum non-transfer money is $150.
In addition, modifieds ($800 to win), street stocks ($500 to win, $50 to start) and hornets ($300 to win, $50 to start) will run for bigger purses as well.
General admission is $20, with students $15, and children 12 and under free. Pit passes are $35.
The pit gate will open at 3 p.m. on Friday and the grandstands at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and the racing starts at 7:30 p.m.

Gas City I-69 Speedway is located on State Road 22, approximately a half-mile west of I-69, exit 259. The quarter-mile dirt oval is about halfway between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, and attracts drivers and fans from all over the Midwest.
