November 27, 2008 (Thanksgiving Day) 10:30am ET

Happy Thanksgiving! On behalf of the Dodson family and everyone at Rising Star Management Group, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the support that hundreds have shown for Cameron in the past week. Yesterday marked one week since that tragic automobile accident occurred and it is a miracle Cameron is still with us and continuing to improve daily. The trauma that he sustained was severe but he has continued to fight and persevere with the loving support of his family, friends, fans, and fellow competitors. As we enjoy the holidays, we must remember to treasure those around us and who brighten our lives on a daily basis.

“I am pleased to announce that Cameron has had one of his best nights since being admitted to the hospital,” announced Rising Star Management Group’s Michelle Petroff on Thanksgiving Day. “Not only has his temperature returned back to normal, but he is very responsive to familiar voices with a firm grip of the hand and has also been able to briefly open his left eye on a few occasions. Everyone is thrilled about his progress but we must continue our prayers and support so he can continue to heal and defy the odds.”

In response to numerous requests on what can be done for Cameron and his family, we are launching a Card Drive for them. Please help us make this special and tell as many people as you possibly can so we can gather holiday cards, Christmas blessings, quotes of inspiration, and positive messages of encouragement to remind them how many people are thinking of them during the holiday season. We will accept cards that are postmarked through December 15, 2008, and then package them uniquely for the family to enjoy. Updates and more information will continue to be posted online at http://www.camerondodson.com

you can count on me! I will tell everyone I know and get as many cards and such to them for the holidays.

I believe it is important for them to know that we are all still out here praying for Cam and the family.

ABSOLUTELY! While the holidays will be difficult, we are all focusing on how blessed we are to have Cameron with us and that miracles happen around us in our every day lives. All of those thoughts expressed in cards will remind us all about the true meaning in Christmas. I know they will be overwhelmed with gratitude. We can't wait for Cameron to be able to pay it forward one day with the support that has been shown to him.

Please do tell as many people as you can! I would love to see 500 cards in my office in the next two weeks. I know we will all give it our best shot to reach that goal so I will keep you posted.

And I just passed an update to his webmaster who will post it soon. As of now, everything remains the same as yesterday other than his temperature has continued to climb yet again and that fever remains unstable. Let's hope that by tomorrow it will be gone.

Thank you all for the support and please help us with the card drive:

I will be emailing everyone I know. Also posting it on all the messages boards I am a member of, both sprint car and stock car ones. I have already made a few phone calls.......

I am moving this to my #1 priority on my PR list of things to do on the off season.

I can remember all the encouragement Cam gave me when I decided to move to NC to do an internship at a race track. He was always there for me on the good days and the bad days......now I am here for him.

I hate to hear that the temp. is back. I will be praying for it to go back down.

Thank you for the updates......it means a lot.

may god bless the whole Dodson family.

I'm on the go but wanted to thank everyone for the ongoing support. Please keep sending the cards! But AMAZING news - this afternoon Cameron woke up and was interacting with doctors by physical commands and responses!!! It will be a process but we took a huge leap today. Please stay tuned to http://www.camerondodson.com

My apologies for what seemed to be a lack of updates but there was no change and everyone was preparing for Cameron's surgery today. His temperature has been a normal 98.6 degrees for the past two days so that is a welcomed relief. He has continued to progress and show more signs of the Cameron spirit.

He had a surgery scheduled this morning to remove some fluid behind his right eye. The surgery was delayed until early afternoon but went really well and doctors believe this will promote healing and improvement. He will continue to rest this weekend and if everything continues to go well, doctors have big plans in store for next week.

Thank you for continuing to keep him in your thoughts and prayers! Cards are filtering in but please continue to send them and tell as many people as possible!
