This was just a whale of a race! For so many laps, the top 4 drivers were just all over each other. Especially the top 3. AJ on the top of the track, Robert in the middle and Chase down on the bottom. Lap, after lap, after lap they weren't but a few feet from one another. Especially coming out of turn 4.
And the whole time, Kyle was just looming right behind them. And I think most people were thinking, like me, it was only a matter of time before he made his move. As he always does.
Which of these 4 drivers was going to win? I don't think anybody really knew. And could also it be Shane Cottle or Shane Cockrum? Both of them had raced through the field, from their 7th and 8th row starting spots, respectively and were joining the lead pack.
And just when you thought you had this one figured out, the guy who had been hanging out in 5th place, seemingly under the radar, running the bottom of the track, Jake Swanson, just attacked the top 4, after a late race yellow. And just that quick, we had a new leader. And he pretty much took over the race. And Chase Stockon settled into 2nd place. And the crowd's consolation prize was watching AJ Hopkins and Robert Ballou throw down for the last podium spot, for the next 5 laps. And it was a great battle. But only one of several between these two that had taken place throughout the race.
You couldn't have asked for anything more out of a race. Close, hard racing from pillar to post. And these guys raced each other clean, for the most part. Which is astounding, considering how many laps featured racers basically on top of one another. Then a sudden plot twist, that produced a new leader and eventual winner.
Next stop; to see most of these same drivers go to war, again. At a place that we know is going to give us another great race.

Yeah Jerry, for the first numerous laps I couldn’t even tell you what was happening behind the top 4. Lap after lap, Hopkins high, Ballou in the middle, and Stockon low just a few inches apart and equal for so many laps. I’m sure like most, I was waiting for someone to make a mistake and Cummins pounce. Man that was impressive! Wish MSCS was on Flo, I’d be watching the race again. See ya at TSS. Safe travels to all. Thank you to all the Veterans that have served, past and present. Lets remember those that gave their life for this country, so we can enjoy nights like we just saw.
