Hey everyone, still new to midget racing and new to the forum, and am looking for some suggestions on what oil (both weight and brand) to be running in a 2.2l ecotec engine for a D2 USAC division.

Prior owner had been using Mobil 5w-30 full synthetic, but have heard from guys running other engines (Quad4) to used something heavier. I also don't know anyone else who owns one of these engines.

I'm also a big fan of Schaeffer's Oil, both in my personal vehicles, and in past race cars, and was curious is anyone has used their oil for alcohol-fueled race engines.

Thank you for any and all suggestions.

The heavier oils like 20-50 will hurt horsepower. Schaefer’s brad penn etc will fit the bill just fine. These engines carry high oil pressure to begin with.
