BOSS Back in Action at Fremont July 18
The MPD Racing / Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is set to return to action this Saturday, July 18th as part of the Operational Support Services "Throwback Night" presented by Fort Ball Pizza Palace. In addition to the BOSS non wing sprint cars, the AFCS winged 410 and 305's will be on the card along with the always exciting dirt trucks.
This will be the second event for the unpredictable 2020 season. The opener was held at Atomic Speedway on July 4th when 26 cars signed in and Rawson, Ohio's Ricky Peterson pulled off his first ever tour win aboard the SC Racing 9x of veteran car owner Stan Courtad. Dallas Hewitt, Matt Westfall, Lee Underwood and Scotty Weir completed the top 5.
The Fremont Speedway event will pay the standard BOSS purse of $1,500 to win and $250 to start. The complete MPD Racing A-Main payout is as follows: 1500, 900, 700, 600, 500, 450, 400, 375, 350, 325, 300, 290, 280, 270, 260, 250, 250, 250, 250, 250. Heat races will pay 40, 30, 20, 10 courtesy of TCB Speed, Hawk Brakes, Hoosier Tire and MSD Ignitions. Five $50 cash bonus awards will be given by The Bridge Restaurant of Sidney, Apple Metal Polishing, All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads, Cowen Truck Line and Accu Force Dynos and Testers. All Star Performance will give a $50 gift certificate for the "sweet move" of the race award and Hoosier Tire will supply a free right rear tire to the main event winner.
For teams competing, there are no entry fees or membership fees. Transponders will be the yellow Westhold and will be available to rent from the track. Mufflers are NOT required on the BOSS cars at Fremont. Pit gates will open at 4 pm with racing at 7 pm. Adult general admission is $18 with seniors $15 and students just $10. Kids 10 and under are free. All pit passes will be $30.
For the balance of the 2020 season, we have elected to use as a burn off period for the open Hoosier tires. So any current commercially available Hoosier tire is legal, but cars must have Hoosiers on all 4 corners (same as last year). The 2021 season will begin the new tire rule.
