As explained in a letter (e-mail) from Knoxville Raceway (and I will paraphrase) they had already sold over 12,000 tickets/night for the Knoxville Nationals. The state of Iowa is limiting them to 7,000 people in attendance through August. Knoxville Raceway did not feel it feasible or fair to contact ticket buyers and rescind tickets 5,000+ tickets in order to hold the Nationals.

Less than 7,000 tickets/night have been sold thus far for the 360 Nationals, thus they will be held as scheduled with only a max of 7,000 tickets sold/night.

The 3 day WoO show now scheduled for August 10-13 will also be capped at 7,000 tickets/night.

Extrapolating from the letter about the Nationals, I would ASSUME ( and yes, I know about ASSUME!) that the Corn Belt Nationals would be limited to 7,000 tickets sold as well.

We attended the Corn Belt Nationals last year and my estimate of the crowd on Saturday was that there were 5-6,000 people in attendance on Saturday. At the Nationals later in the year, they mentioned that the front stretch stands seated about 12,500 people and they were at best half full for the Corn Belt Nationals.

It’s the same limit, 7,000 tickets.

You can run a very successful program with 7,000 people as your audience, you can’t run the Knoxville Nationals however.
