Brody Roa Performance
P.O. Box 2171 Cypress, CA 90630 For Further Information Contact mailto:brodyroa91@gmail.com For Immediate Release USAC/CRA POINT LEADER BRODY ROA READY FOR CALIFORNIA SPRINT WEEK! (Cypress, CA, August 29, 2018) USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series points leader Brody Roa Is ready to contend the “5th Annual California Sprint Week Series,” which begins this Saturday night, September 1st, at the Calistoga Speedway. The demanding series will be made up of six races on five different tracks in only eight days. In the midst of his best season yet driving sprint cars, Roa Took over the point lead on August 18th when he placed fifth in the 30 lap USAC/CRA main event at Perris Auto Speedway. As the BR Performance team heads north for Saturday’s CSW opener, Roa has a 3-point lead in the championship standings. A test of driver, machine and crew, the six-race series will be crucial in determining who wins the 2018 USAC/CRA championship. In addition to racing at Calistoga in California’s “Wine Country” on Saturday, the schedule calls for another race on the big Half mile clay oval on Sunday night. After Calistoga, the racing action will switch to the Petaluma Speedway on Monday night September 3rd. The teams will get Tuesday and Wednesday off to prepare their cars and rest their bodies for the final three races. Those races will be at silver dollar Speedway in Chico on Thursday night, September 6th, Friday the 7th at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville and the series closer on Saturday the 8th at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford. Through the first nine races of the season in the USAC/CRA Series, Roa has eight top-five finishes. Of the eight, he has two wins, one second place finish, three third place outings and he has placed fourth and fifth one time each. His two victories tie him for first in the series this year. In last year’s CSW, Roa’s best finish was fifth and he achieved that two times. His other four finishes were a sixth, two seventh-place conclusions and a 17th. He knows to win the CSW title and keep the USAC/CRA Series point lead, he will have to improve on those numbers next week. Unlike most of the USAC/CRA regulars, Roa stays busy on the track when the series is not racing. Along with his nine races in the California based series, the 27-year-old has made nine appearances in the Midwest with the USAC National Sprint Car Series, four in the USAC West Coast Series, one with the Ventura Racing Association and even one with the So Cal Oval Karters. Among his finishes are a pair of wins in the West Coast Series, one victory with VRA and one with the Oval Karters. The Garden Grove, California driver realizes that more important than winning the CSW title is the overall championship in the USAC/CRA Series. Thus far only nine races have been held through the end of August. However, starting with Saturday there will be 15 point-paying races to decide the 2018 title. After the race at Hanford on the 8th, there will be nine races down the homestretch. Five of the nine will be at USAC/CRA’s home track, Perris Auto Speedway, and four will be at the Arizona Speedway. Consistent finishes in all those races will be a must to be presented with the crown at the 2018 USAC Racing banquet. While the focus on success in racing is usually reflected on the driver, it takes a team effort to get the job done. Nowhere in sprint car racing is that more evident than the BR Performance Team. Led by Roa, his father Brett, Zac Bozanich and Joe Gibb, the crew spends countless hours in the shop every week. In addition, they work hard at the track. Much of the credit for the lead in the point standings is directly attributed to them and the other team members. Two times at Perris Auto Speedway this year they have thrashed to get the car back on the track in mere minutes after tangles in the main event. Without those efforts, Roa would not currently be in the USAC/CRA point lead. In addition to meeting Roa during “California Sprint Week,” please take the time to meet the rest of the crew and shake their hands. Brody Roa t-shirts and caps will be available in the pits at all six “California Sprint Week” races. They are also available from the team’s website at the following link http://www.brodyroa.com/. The cost is $20.00 plus shipping.
