Just wanted to extend an invitation to have you join us for The WFO Show Wednesday night at 7:30 pm ET. It's a show devoted to the biggest news stories in open-wheel racing as well as discussing the real talking points that effect the sport. I'd hate to break the no self-promotion rule here, but since we are doing it live on YouTube the whole point is for you get in on the discussion and I believe it will be something you will enjoy. If you are interested feel free to check us out, but we will also have the show out on iTunes and Stitcher Radio for you later. It's been a while since I have prowled this forum, but you will be familiar with many of my friends on the show and I am glad to be back!
We are now on iTunes! Just search The WFO Show in the iTunes Store and subscribe to the podcast to have our shows automatically download to your Apple device each week, or go here to find it online with a link to open it directly in your #iTunes
Liked the show. You covered a lot of series but I hope you spend significant time weekly on sprint car and midget races. The three of you seem to have an "inside" track in sprints/midgets, so give us the real scoop and poop as you see or hear it each week. Forget the P.C. approach and give us the "dirt" on weekly shows. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate the kind words. The first show was kind-of a set-up just to give you an idea what to expect. Each show will have a particular focus, but will contain the actual news for whatever series is churning it out. I can tell you this, we will be at a hell of a lot more USAC/WoO races than anything else this year, so our focus and discussion will be there very often. With that said, the Indycar series will be a big part as well. The show will continue to improve as we check these boxes:
1. Get our sponsorship money in for an HD webcam, another microphone and stands.
2. Get enough people watching and giving live feedback, thus allowing people to shape the direction of the discussion. If we are talking about something and people would rather turn the discussion to something else, we will.
3. Get some more experience for my co-hosts and set up guest appearances from short track racers you know. You wouldn't have known it from how they handled themselves, but neither Billy nor Tony have any experience doing anything like this. We also have plenty of connections at the short tracks and I just think getting drivers in a round-table style discussion will breed good things.
BTW I am getting a lot of feedback from people concerned about what racing series we will cover the most. Please feel free to let us know here in this thread what you want from the show. We will continue to cover all of open-wheel racing to keep each show fresh and keep everyone interested, but this is your show! Don't be afraid to be critical or tell us what you think because we want to work on the show and make it as good as we can.
The USSA racing series (pavement sprints and Kenyon midgets) will be a topic of discussion tonight. Tony has some insider information and Billy is gearing up for a serious rant about his problems with USAC. I figured that might be something that will interest you guys.
