Just saw this as well. Sad day in American Motorsports. RIP #99. One of America's legendary short track racers has died from an apparent self-inflected gun shot wound.
Sad day ...Loved him in the A.S.A. glory years .....Loved to see him pull in late and have to start on the tail and watch him go up thru traffic.....:

Sad day!!! I saw Dick win a 1985 ASA race at Oswego Speedway, that is how I want to remember him. For that win and for being a short track legend, winning more times than any other short track racer. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dick's family, friends and fans.
