April 09, 2012 - Billy Wease of Noblesville, IN will return to the Must See Xtreme Sprint Car Series with Jerry Powell Racing. Billy will be piloting the #12 to victory lane throughout the season in pursuit of the 2012 Championship.
“I am very blessed to have this opportunity from Jerry (Powell) to be able to pursue this year’s championship. The Must See Series has a tough lineup this year but I am confident that all the work myself and Jerry put in will show the team’s championship caliber.” said Billy Wease.
The team compatibility began when team owner Jerry Powell put Billy in his sprint car at the 2011 USAC Sprint Race in Columbus, Ohio. At the end of 2011, Powell talked to Billy about driving for the team and so the 2012 Championship pursuit began. Throughout the winter months, the team has been busy rebuilding and preparing the cars for the season.
“Billy is a great driver,” affirmed team owner Jerry Powell. “I have known Billy and his family f or years. I know his capabilities behind the wheel of a race car and that we can compete for wins and the championship this year.”
In the 2011 season, Billy Wease had the privilege to compete with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series with Don Wilshe’s BioBased US team. “I am very appreciative to Don for last season allowing me to be a part of such a great, competitive series. There were a lot of new elements for me and luckily I had a great team behind me to help me grow as a driver.” said Wease. This opportunity added wing sprint cars to his already impressive racing career.
The team will represent sponsor K&N Filters in the series’ full schedule beginning wit h the Southern Shootout season opener April 13. The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series offers a unique racing platform as it will be able bring its competitive racing to millions via their 10 broadcasted events. Best of luck to everyone in Florida this weekend! Was planning to attend but plans have changed (out of my control).
Looking foreward to/and plan to attend many MSR events this year. Everyone that likes pavement racing should try to support this series, this is a group that seems to be gaining momentum (in an area others failed) and should be wearing "shades"!

Well, at least everyone is smiling. One of the cool things that I saw happen this weekend was that Kody Swanson got to know the Florida sprint car community a little better. I'm glad that happened - look forward to seeing Kody back here next year.
