I believe the crewman hit by by Danica today was the same Chuck Buckman that has been around racing forever.
His son races sprints and he has taken care of different cars from his shop at Throckmorton's Place(Kings old building) including one of the 6r Silver Crown cars.
I'm sure many of you know him. That was a bad deal, but he was lucky to only have the injuries he did.
They have been showing the video on T.V. and Danica didn't have a chance to miss him. That is tough for all involved.

I belive it was the son that got hit and not the father. I have known Chuck for years he raced 360 sprints out in Az in '02, '03 and '04 and even made the track back here to run parts of ISW in the 4M car
Danica must have used up all of her emotional alotment after her win because there was none in her statement to the press after the incident

I never though I would see Chuck Buckman being mentioned on Yahoo and I'm sure he is now a You Tube icon.
I wouldn't say she wasn't affected by it. She looked pretty upset in the interviews I saw.
If she starts balling in pit lane people would say she couldn't handle her emotions. If she is calm on the outside she is an ice queen.
I remember Richard Petty talking in an interview about when Adam hit one of his crewmen and the outcome was much worse. Richard mentioned that Adam was beside himself and that Richard sat him down and told him that he had to get past it and move on if he was to be successful. Richard relayed a couple of stories to him that happened to him that were similar situations and discussed to him how he got past it.
That was before Adam died, and not long after Adam's death he basically said the same thing about how his family had to move on.
(Not to get off subject, but I saw an interview with Bobby Allison and his wife that said Adam's death brought them back to together. They had grown apart with the grief of losing both sons, but they felt that they had to go be with the Petty's and in doing so they started getting through their problems. In not dealing with their grief in a proper manner, it had destroyed their relationship.)
I mention all of that because that is basically the situation she was in.(Although Chuck wasn't hurt as bad as he could have been) To be successful she has to move on. She has to concentrate on the job at hand. It wasn't her fault, she could do nothing to change the outcome.
She has to get out of her own way and go forward.

She could have been a little more personable in this instance, she could have been a little more apologetic. EVEN IF IT WASNT HERE FAULT. I dislike her more every time I hear her speak.

Now THAT'S funny. Nice work.
Ty,
How you could you dislike any woman who's goal is to sit on the pole?
I say good for her.

Well; for whatever it's worth, I don't like the fact that McDonalds stops serving breakfast at 10:30 even on Sunday's.
