I have been wondering what is the status of Kamp Motor Speedway? Did it sell? Is it even a race track anymore?

Here is a clip I found from the 2007 USAC Midget Week date I promoted there.
Youtube is the best thing since sliced bread, and the invention of beer.

That joint may be dusty and full of rocks, but I like it. I have taken some of my best pictures there. Of course I don't have to race on it and I don't sit outside, either. I still remember that last Sprint Week feature there in '09.

Tony,

The last that I knew the track was for sale. Bob & Gayle Kamp were the owners and from what a friend of mine has told me, the track is still in place. His parents live close to there and the last time he was up in the fall he said that it still looked the same.

The website is no longer in service but here is a letter that Gayle wrote last year concerning the situation. I enjoyed the racing there and hope that it can reopen under new ownership.

Im not sure if the track was disc and watered before race day, That place could put on some great shows. The pits are a little small and it seriously needs a catch fence. But man, Two visits and two of the best races I've seen, What I could see of them

I ran there in 2009 with SCORA and it rained before Hot Laps and it was super racey and super fast. Barely had to crack the throttle early on! Awesome!

I think that last night on DO's show he mentioned something about a potential buyer for the track. He had mentioned that they was looking into buying some additional land around the track. That if this person comes through it would not be until the 2012 season. The one thing that was not mentioned was who the potential buyer is.

I went by the track last October. The surface is overgrown, but the overall condition of the place was pretty good.I just hope whoever gets it can get a water truck and some clay. Neat joint when you can see the racing.

If the track reopens, maybe a vendor can lease used crash helmets to protect against rocks
