It appears that all the talk for all the years is finally over, all the back taxes are paid and the Speedway will reopen in 2011. Last time i was there was Ryan Newman night several years ago, place was packed and first time i was able to see what all the talk about some new kid named Bryan Clausen was! This is a great facility for Midget races, hope they get some open wheel dates on the new schedule!
Nice to see a track reopen then shut down for a Change!

New owner said he is going to run 5 classes a night and running on SATURDAY nights! That makes Plymouth and New Paris who both are suffering from low car counts and spectators running all on the same night all 3 tracks are about 30 min apart. I predict in a year it will go from one track being bought to 3 tracks being for sale!!!!!!!!

M-40 just north of the Indy border in Michigan is also going to stop running Friday nights and run on Sat also in 2011. That would make 4 tracks.

Ok 4 tracks my mistake. Dont need to be negative i went there for years ,but on Friday night not Saturday with that many tracks running on the same night. maybe with some feed back from local fans they will get things worked out. Hope i was wrong about the bet but i bet i am not!!

Throw in Illiana Speedway a couple hours west of South Bend ,they also race on Saturday night.

There is nothing wrong with South Bend Motor Speedway that 3 feet of dirt wouldn't fix.
