It was a powerful performance by Dave, tonight. Robert made it interesting at the end by running him down in traffic, but was never close enough to take a serious shot at the eventual winner. The Hard Charger Award winner, Bryan Clauson was busy the entire race, picking them off, one by one, to grab a podium finish, after a challenging start to his evening. Hunter was a man on a mission for most of the first half of this race, as well. Racing a very high line to pass many of the field's faster competitors.
This is an awesome racing facility, that hosts this marquee event every year. Thousands of race fans flock to Lakeside Speedway to see this well run event, that features great racing and the best racing format, hands down. If you get a chance to put this one on your racing schedule, do so. You won't be sorry.
BTW, if you see BC tomorrow at Winchester or Kokomo, thank him for the effort he put in this week. From what I understand, he drove from KC to Springfield last night. Then back to KC, this morning. And as I was standing, waiting for the parking lot to thin out, he and Spridge inched by, in a pickup truck, trying to get through the gridlock, so they could hit the road to get to tomorrow's races. Most of USAC's top racers sat at home this week, resting up. Not this guy. As a race fan, you just have take your hat off to racers like that.
