I feel compelled to pass along a feel good story that I learned of during driver introductions last night at the Little 500. Dave Baumgartner, while camping at the track on Friday night, made the acquaintance of a fan and his two sons. Through the regular course of conversation, Dave learned that the man and his sons were just sort of hanging out at the track because they love the event so much, but could not afford tickets to the race. So, as soon as he could, Dave Baumgartner ran over to the box office to buy some tickets for the man and his sons. They attended the Little 500 and are no doubt Dave fans for life. They were standing by the catch fence during introductions and while we were strapping in drivers wishing Dave luck. Good goin' Dave. You are a class act.
Oh yeah, and on Friday night, when the boys fell asleep, Dave helped tuck them in.

Had to do it. I was getting the whole story from Dave Durnwald while Baumgartner was strapping in. Told Dave Durnwald that no way was I not gonna post that, and he agreed.
I too feel compelled to to give thanks to Dave Bumgartner, for pulling out his 2nd car on friday and giving me a shot at making the little 500. By no fault of him or his crew I didnt get the job done, but thanks again Dave for giving me the chance.
