I was wondering if anyone could help me with purchasing camera equipment and mounting devices that will be going on sprintcars, midgets, and much more this season! Price isnt really an issue, but want nice video for everyone to be able to check out!

We got the one used in our midget for the in car videos on youtube from http://helmetcamera.com/
The only thing is I did a budget deal setting it up and used a cheap sony recorder I bought on ebay. The recorder doesn't like the vibration and occaisionally the picture messes up. If I were doing it again I would find some type of memory card that would hold the video or something with no moving parts. I even wired it to the battery on the car and installed a switch so the driver could turn it off and on while waiting on the grid etc.

I purchases one from from Dreyer Cycle in Indianapolis which is a "Moto-Comm" brand name, the model I got was a DSR 100, I could not believe how well it works, I believe the memory card holds up to 8 hours recording, it came with several different mounting brackets an external Mic. with lots of cable and it was only $200.00 as opposed to several that I looked at that were $500.00 and up, I think probably about all motorcycle dealers that deal in ATVs would sell them sell them. www.motocomm.com

I agree with wbr. No matter what you decide to use make sure it uses compact flash or sd cards and a proprietary battery or secure battery holder. Vibration is a killer for in car cameras. If you have time to test look for one that is good in low light. The cheaper color cameras are terrible in night time race track lighting. I have built a couple of systems and always like to have the option to transmit live video to the infield as well. So be sure you can output to standard RCA while recording.
