Haven't heard anything from them in a few years now so i'd say no.

Thanks for the replies. I recently decided a 360 sprint car was more in my budget than my midget. So I picked up a Doemelt. Everyone I talk to says they are really nice cars. They all say I will like it. I was just curious if they were still around as I haven't heard their name in a few years either.

I see you're from Wisconsin. Where are you gonna be running the sprinter next year? Is it 360 or 410? Winged or non-winged?
Thanks, David. :thumb:

I'm pretty sure Doemelt did quit making cars in the early 2000's. Along with me driving one, Kenny Carmichael Sr and Jr both drove them for numerous years.

As for our car it was a wheel stand monster. Tons of left side drive and perfect for short and slick tracks.

Unfortunately it met it's end at Bloomington back in 2002.

Very well constructed cars though and I think you will enjoy yours.

Gary quit building cars in the early 2000s due to insurance concerns on the rest of his business. His son Clay has built a few Micro Sprints. I think they are still in Arcola Il.

I had a '96 Doemelt non-down tube car and loved it. Most standard sprint car parts should bolt right to it, with the exception of the nerf bars and bumpers. You might want to find a company that is currently building cars, and move your spuds so their nerf and bumpers fit.

David, even though it's a 360 I think I am going to run it with the 410's at Wilmot. I was originally planning on racing it with MSA but Wilmot is over an hour closer to my house. I have a lot of learning to do so I might as well do it close to home. Plus Wilmot is so dry 360's do well with the 410's.
