BILL PUTERBAUGH, 81

1975 Indianapolis 500 "Rookie of he Year" Bill Puterbaugh has passed at the age of 81 in Indianapolis. He competed in the 500 in 1975-76-77, finishing 7th in 1975. As a USAC Sprint Car standout, he posted five feature wins and finished third in the 1969 USAC National Sprint car points. In 30 Championship car starts, he scored a sixth-place at Springfield in 1968 and a sixth at Sacramento in 1969. USAC extends ts sympathies to his wife Joyce, his sons Billy and Russell and his family and friends.
