The Rumble In Fort Wayne returns to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Friday and Saturday, December 30 & 31. This 19th annual racing “family reunion” will see drivers from at least seven states and Canada, battle wheel-to-wheel in no-holds-barred, full-contact, hard-racing around the tight, 1/6-mile oval.
The two-day affair will see more than 250 entries from at least seven states and Canada and from ages 4 to 60+, compete over 15 divisions of racing.
Continuing a tradition that spans nearly the entire 64-year history of the Coliseum, USAC-style Midgets will be the headline attraction with at least seven former winners among the more than 30 entries. With a Rumble-record 22 career Feature starts, Billy Wease ran his win total to five when he won the second event in 2015. After a two-year absence, “The People’s Champ” Dave Darland will be making his Rumble return! The 4-time USAC Champion has two Rumble wins on a resume that has seen him finish in the top-five a record 13 times in 20 career starts. Two-time winners Russ Gamester and Justin Peck return along with former winners Mike Fedorcak, Jim Anderson and Derek Bischak. Fedorcak and Gamester have the unique honor of being the only two drivers to win in both the Memorial Coliseum Arena and the Expo Center. Fort Wayne’s Geoff Kaiser, Chris Neuenschwander, Cory Setser, and Shawn Bonar will also be among the entries.
A full program of qualifying, heats, and features will be held each day. Heat races for the Go-kart and Quarter-Midget divisions will begin around 11:30 each morning and continue throughout the day. Midget practice and qualifying for both the Outlaw Winged 600 and Non-wing 600 Midgets will be held mid-afternoon; with Midget qualifying scheduled for around 4:30. The main racing program will begin with Opening Ceremonies at 7, and will include ALL the racing for the three Midget divisions along with four Go-Kart and two Quarter-Midget Features mixed in during down time.
Adult general admission (ages 13 and up) will remain at $20, while a child’s general admission ticket (ages 12 and under) will be $10. Reserved seats in selected areas will be available for an additional $4 fee per ticket. Advance tickets are encouraged to get you the best seat; however tickets will be available at the door each day. Tickets may be purchased through Ticket Master or at the Coliseum box office.
