I'm not sure where they got the list, but the guys doing the radio for Knoxville last night read off quite a list of drivers that had committed. Sounded like pretty much everyone. Wish I could be there.
Got a message from friends at the track. Just 4 midgets, 18 winged micros. 1/5 or 1/6 paperclip track. Very nice facility with aluminum bleachers down the front stretch. With the lights on, looks like a very nice place. Boespflug and Kade Higday in the 57's, Josh Most in #92 and Hunter Lane in Robert Bell's #71. Robert Bell's 71 went off on the hook in hot laps. Late start waiting for ambulance. Stout field of micros when Frank Galusha is 8th fastest. Car turnout is disappointing but it's 1st time for the event. They should see a good micro show.
As others have said, I don't think we can put up with midget teams complaining about good paying shows. I feel bad for Robert. Thanks for taking a chance!
I also feel bad for Robert Bell. It seemed that he had did a good job of getting sponsors for the race so I hope it is not a financial loss. The USAC teams have been on the road straight 6-7 days. It might have been over optimistic to think that they would stay another 3-4 days for this race.
