We all know Dave Darland is "The People's Champ" and IMO deservedly so. But if there was any doubt, I watched him do something last night at Terre Haute that reinforced it. Dave was at his trailer signing autographs between the heats and Semi. There was a group of about (5) 6-10 yr. old boys who walked up with a mom to get his autograph and of course, Dave was happy to oblige. When he got done, the youngest boy looked at him and asked him "do you want my autograph,? I'm a driver too!" The mom quickly told Dave that all the boys were indeed .25 drivers at a track in IL. Dave never hesitated, bent down and offered the shirt sleeve of his t-shirt for all the boys to sign. If that isn't cool, then I don't know what is!
