Lakeside Speedway-Night II-USAC Sprints-Full Show
Postby oldracer#4 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 11:13 pm

Different night different track, a shower came in about 40 minutes before hot laps and wet the track pretty good. The races were just a little late getting started, but once they did two track records were broken, 1 lap and 8 lap heat race. You could say the boy's were on a roll.

A great 30 lap a-main with 3 different leaders and the race being decided in the closing laps.

That's all I saying, you got to watch the video. Enjoy.

There was severe lightning and storms just 10 miles south before the races and a 1 hr rain delay before they put cars on the track so that scared a lot of people off. The night before was a bigger crowd

I live about 20 minutes east of the track, and it rained on me for almost the entire drive to the track. Only the hardcore (or stubborn) fans would drive through a rain storm for a Sunday night show.

I would imagine that for the weekend, it was a push for the promoter. Very strong crowd on Saturday, very weak crowd on Sunday. If only we could get him to put that much water on the track for a regular show.
