Once again the first battle for the championship in the USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series will take place at Anderson Speedway on April 2, 2016. Anderson will be joined on the USSA 2016 Racing Schedule by the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome, the Columbus Motor Speedway, the Sportsdrome Speedway (Jeffersonville, IN) and US 24 Speedway. The 2016 Mel Kenyon Midget Series Championship will consist of 19 races between April and October.
In addition to the Mel Kenyon Midget Series races in 2016, the United States Speed Association will sanction Anderson Speedway’s 68th Pay Less Little 500. The 68th running of the sprint car classic will be held on May 29, with Pole Qualifying on Thursday May 27 and Bump day on Friday May 28.
The Mel Kenyon Midget Series will be making its first trip to Columbus Motor Speedway, located on the south side of Columbus OH on Saturday April 23. Saturday July 2nd will mark the series inaugural visit to Jeffersonville’s Sportsdrome Speedway.
The high banks of Anderson Speedway will host the series for six events in 2016. The drivers will see is they can break USSA’s pavement track margin of victory record of 0.004 on April 2, May 25, June 11, July 9, August 6 and October 8.
Fans at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome will be treat to five 50 lap features at the historic racing facility on Indy’s east side. The Mel Kenyon Midget Series drivers will test themselves and their competitors on the 1/5 mile oval April 30, May 21, June 25, July 30, August 13 and September 3.
The dirt bullring at the Logansport, IN US 24 Speedway will challenge the drivers’ dirt racing skills on five different Saturdays. The Mel Kenyon Midget Series will visit US 24 on May 7, May 14, June 4, August 20 and September 17.
